Margin Debt Rebounds Swiftly After 3-Month Decline

Stock market margin debt rebounded nicely in November as it gained 4% to reach $660.89 billion. The rebound came after steady declines in August, September, and October which saw margin debt decline by 10.5% from the July high.

Stock market margin debt rebounded nicely in November as it gained 4% to reach $660.89 billion. The rebound came after steady declines in August, September, and October which saw margin debt decline by 10.5% from the July high.

It would appear that the event witnessed in November provided solid ground for market participants to allocate more margin to their positions. We expect margin debt to climb over the next few months as bullish signals continue to flash through markets.
