Employers finished 2023 with less open positions than the start of the year as the most recent unemployment rate held steady at 3.7%.
At the end of 2023, job postings declined by 15% overall which was the result of some companies filling positions while others just decided to stop hiring. With that being said, since February 2020, 4 sectors have shown a job posting increase of 20% or more. See the chart below:
